The host of Talk of the Nation on National Public Radio gave anti-game activist Jack Thompson a rather swift interview on the subject of GTA IV. Needless to say, it probably didn't go as Thompson had planned. Read the transcript provided below or give a listen (courtesy Game Politics):

[Neal] Conan: I understand that you think one of the characters in Grand Theft Auto IV is based on you

Thompson: Well, they go into a lawyer's office and they kill him. I had my house vandalized, by the way, today by gamers. I get calls, death threats all the time by gamers… The real issue here is, though, that there is so much sex and so much graphic sex… I'm working with various law enforcement agencies,hopefully with the result that Take Two corporately and the chairman Strauss Zelnick will be indicted for that because this is way, way over the line…

[Adam] Sessler: I hope you don't mind if I step in there, Neil. Having played the game I have yet to discover the graphic sex Mr. Thompson is identifying…

Conan: John Thompson… Have you played the game?

Thompson: It just came out and I have a life…

Conan: And which law enforcement agencies are you working with?

Thompson: I'm not gonna tell you.

Conan: Alright, well, thanks very much for speaking with us.

Thompson: (chuckle) I'm done?

Conan: You're done.

Thompson: Oh, great. I'll go play the game now.

  Yea, Im a little late in posting this, but I also remembered I had a blog earlier today, so give me a break.

Earlier this week Ubisoft released an update which addresses many of the issues we in the community have been facing. Though this update doesnt cover everything in the spectrum, it does resolve the major issues they received feedback on. So the things we asked the amend, they did. The updated areas are as followes:

Please Note: The reference to updated spawn points is for Team death Match, and doesnt apply to all spawn locations within multi-player.

Weapon Switch
Swapping to & from Pistols are now faster in Multiplayer.

Sound Loops
Optimized sound bank to improve weapon firing and helicopter sound clips that loop over and over.

Pings
Servers now update their pings more often so that players have a more accurate value of server performance.

Team Leader Respawn Modification
Spawn Shield is shorter when respawning with the Leader.

XP Modifiers
When there are more people on a team than the other, there is an overall XP modifier applied to all XP gained during the game.

Outfitting
By pressing the start button, players now have access to the outfitting menu in observer mode.

Team Deathmatch Respawn Modification
Respawning in Team Deathmatch now work like regular Deathmatch (random points throughout the map) which intensifies gameplay and minimizes spawn camping/trapping.

Faster Respawns
Faster respawns for Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. You no longer have to wait a full 10 seconds!

Custom Search
Players who enter a room using custom search then exit will be brought back to an automatic search with the same criteria.

Rank Reset Glitch
Fixed. Players will be able to use their Xbox guide during the game loading without risk of losing their rank.

Private First Class - Achievement
If you are ranked Private First Class or above, you will automatically get the achievement after the title update is complete and you load your gamer profile.

Freedom Shall Prevail - Achievement
If you’ve passed all checkpoints on Story Mode on Realistic and finished the game, you will automatically get the achievement after the title update is complete and you load your gamer profile.

That Wasn’t So Hard - Ribbon
Your ribbon now unlocks when you get the achievement.

Light Machinegun Sound Glitch
When firing continuously with any light machinegun, the sound of the weapon will no longer get cut off.

Civilians & Hostages on Tactical Map
No longer are displayed as terrorists.

Shield Teleport Glitch
Players can no longer teleport when trying to take cover with a shield

Out of Map Glitch
Players can no longer cover-peek into each other to raise a team mate above their heads that allows them to walk into areas outside the designated map.

Friend Invite in Ranked Matches
Inviting friends in Ranked Matches now work correctly.

Custom Face
Previously, Custom faces were sometimes copied over to another player’s face. This is no longer the case. Custom faces will display the proper faces.

Radar Jammer
Radar Jammer now work for clients, not just hosts.

XP Farming
That one famous area in ACT 1 “Ambush” will no longer allow XP Farming.

Observer Mode
Players will no longer be stuck in the respawn screen at 0 seconds while in observer mode.

Weapon Restriction
The weapon restriction configuration is no longer kept in Terrorist Hunt, Story and Co-op Story.

Custom Camo 3 Save
The colour and pattern of Custom Camo 3 now saves correctly.
You have to love it when a developer quickly works to address issues within its products... more work for us!

Great game, dont get me wrong. Its oddly addicting to mate a virtual living pinata swan with a pinata pig and dress the genetic mutant offspring up with a backpack and top-hat......that being said, WTF!? Obsurd pinata facts aside, I'm loving this game. My buddy returned it after almost 6 months, so Im back to trying to get the full 1000 gamerpoints out of it, and the only achievement left....play for 50 hours.

The feat itself isnt all that hard, but it would be my 2nd time doing so, due to my recklessness and lack of a data transfer cable when buying my Elite. I'll get there eventually, and in the process hopefully spawn a wild-card pinata or two, though the odds arent in my favor. (1 in 1400)

Sure! why not. With the job getting easier by the day, I've found myself w/ a little extra time at home... and rather than spend it bickering w/ folk in the GTA4 forums over at Xbox.com or fighting w/ my friends over use of the big TV, figured I'd dust off the ol' blog and make a few irrelevant posts....or at least update the space a little. Sure needs it
